Hello! I spent this week primarily trying to get my site looking better on smaller screens using responsive design with a little help from ChatGPT to get a fancy looking “hamburger” menu. (Try checking out the site on mobile if you want to see!)
I enjoyed reading up on creating custom block themes. It is incredible how much flexibility WordPress has when it comes to creating custom looks. I like that you can use the editor (with the Create Block Theme plugin) to easily customize blocks to fit your specific need.
I also found the advanced block theme design video enlightening. It was interesting to see a lifelong pro show how she would design a website for an upscale restaurant using specific theme elements to convey a “vibe” as she called it. I want to watch that video again, as well as other design tutorials, as I tend to lean in a very bland design direction by default. (Offsetting anything scares me!) Overall, a good week, and looking forward to crunch time and getting my site finished up. Have a great week.
